Nice time and new friends met at the #RethinkingClusters Conference, held between the 8th and the 10th of May at the University of Padua! I presented a work in progress of my research and improved my know-how in the field by attending presentations of top researchers such as #RonBoschma, the founder of #EvolutionaryEconomicGeography ! Thank you to my supervisor Mario Biggeri and to the organizers of the event for giving me the opportunity of being in such these inspiring days!๐Ÿ™

First IAQUIS Conference - Viterbo (Italy)Dear colleague,This decade is decisive for profound organizational and business transformation for achieving sustainable development goals and supporting the current challenges humanity is experiencing, which should be a priority: climate change, population growth, resource scarcity, poverty, and green and digital transformation. We believe quality, innovation, and sustainability are the three interrelated aspects that will impact the future. In the last 20 years, the Quality movement, particularly the Qmod network, has actively contributed to societal issues in theory and practice. But nowadays, we must increase our efforts and reinforce our research relationship to understand how scholars can support the global challenges. There is a need to discuss and explore these concepts by adopting a multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach involving scholars from different research fields and contexts. As a group of Qmoders, we believe that our research community must participate in the scientific dialogue, valorizing our network and relationships in a new format. We are developing the International Academy for Quality, Innovation, and Sustainability - IAQUIS - to support our scientific community in emerging new research projects and initiatives. We are thrilled to announce the First IAQUIS Conference, which will take place in Viterbo (Italy) from September 11 to 13, 2024.For further information visit our website:https://www.iaquis.com/Abstract submission deadline: Monday 15/04/2024We hope this initiative fulfils your research interests, and we look forward to meeting you in Viterbo, Italy. The scientific committee:Manuel Francisco Suarez BarrazaPh.D. in Management Science Managing Director, Universidad de las Americas PueblaBo Edvardsonโ€“ Professor, Karlstad UniversityBoลกtjan Gomiลกฤekโ€“ Professor, Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart UniversityCarmen Jacaโ€“ Professor, Tecnun, Engineering School of Universidad de NavarraRodrigo Lozano- Founder and director of Organisational SustainabilityFrederic Marimon- Professor, Universitat Internacional de CatalunyaEvangelos Psomas-Associate Professor, University of PatrasSamuel Petros Sebhatu, Ph.D, Assistant Professor โ€“ Karlstad UniversityPaulo Alexander Sampaio- ProfessorUniversity of MinhoMaria Francesca Renziโ€“ Professor, Roma Tre UniversityAlessandro Ruggieriโ€“ Professor, University of Tuscia--IAQUIS -International Association for Quality, Innovation and Sustainabilityhttps://www.iaquis.com/info@iaquis.com

Reflecting on this, it's fascinating how insights from animal behavior, like ant colony optimization, can inform not just AI development but inspire designing for humans. Here, my fellow countryman, Jhonny, shows how last-mile delivery underscores the potential of biomimicry in tackling complex urban logistics through computer science. As a designer intrigued by the intersection of nature, technology, and human behavior, I find this approach particularly enlightening. I encourage everyone, especially those in design and logistics, to listen to this episode for unique perspectives on innovation.

Over the past weeks, we had the privilege of hosting Prof. Michael Gusenbauer from the Johannes Kepler Universitรคt Linz at our Institute. We benefitted from his expertise through many discussions and interesting meetings. Presenting one of his ongoing projects, Michael shared his expertise through a seminar on enhancing literature sampling in systematic reviews and meta-analyses. We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to Michael for providing us with fresh perspectives and valuable insights on optimizing the literature sampling process. Looking forward to seeing how this research will positively impact literature reviews and meta-analyses in management research and adjacent disciplines!#irihsg #LiteratureSampling #SystematicReviews #MetaAnalyses #KnowledgeSharing

I was delighted to participate in the 7th Navigating Knowledge Landscapes annual conference, hosted in Hochschule Fulda.A very interesting conference with researchers from different fields, focusing on a very important and ever-growing topic of โ€œthe dark side of digital societiesโ€. A very peculiar thing about events like this, as it was also discussed in the conference, is the fact that you walk out with more questions than answers.I am grateful to Prof. Dr. Joachim Allgaier for inviting me to the conference.#hsfulda #Ifbc #digitalsociety #research #interdisciplinaryresearch

The Leiden Ranking, an annual assessment of universities' scientific performance and impact, has once again recognized the Weizmann Institute of Science as one of the world's elite research institutions. ๐Ÿ“ˆThe Weizmann Institute of Science secured an impressive 9th position globally, solidifying its place among prestigious names like Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, and MIT. ๐ŸŒWhat sets the Leiden Ranking apart is its objective and quantitative methodology. Unlike subjective surveys, it relies solely on bibliometric data โ€“ the number of scientific publications, citations, and the proportion of highly-cited papers from each institution. ๐Ÿ“ŠThis focus on scientific impact highlights institutions producing truly influential and high-quality research, rather than just the quantity of publications. Moreover, the ranking employs a size-normalized approach, leveling the playing field for smaller but impactful institutions. ๐Ÿ”ฌWeizmann's consistent top 10 ranking in recent years is a testament to its sustained excellence and upward trajectory in research quality. This recognition underscores the Institute's status as a global powerhouse in scientific discovery and innovation. ๐ŸŒŸLet us celebrate Weizmann's well-deserved achievement and its unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of knowledge.https://lnkd.in/eAfvDdVi#LeidenRanking #WeizmannInstitute #ScientificExcellence #ResearchImpact
